How a yap video call goes, start to finish
A call on Yapchat takes a few seconds to start and ends whenever you want it to. Here is each step, from allowing your camera to the message you can send afterwards.

The first time, your browser asks to use the camera. Allow it once and you are ready.

You are paired with one person. Nobody else joins the call.

You see each other
The call opens with both cameras on. You can see their nickname and country, and they can see yours.

Next, or end the call
Tap Next to open a new call with someone else, or End when you are done for now.

Send a message afterwards
Liked talking to them? Message them once the call is over and find the chat later in your inbox.

Blur
Softens your picture for the other person. Turn it off when you are ready to be seen.
Mute
Switches your mic off. They can still see you.
Camera
Turns your camera off for a moment without dropping the call.
Next
Ends this call and opens a new one with someone else.
End
Hangs up. Start again whenever you feel like another call.

What do I need for a yap video call?
A browser, a camera and a microphone. The front camera on a phone or the webcam on a laptop both work, and there is nothing to download.
Is a yap video call free?
Yapchat is free to start. Calls on your free matches have no time limit, and when the free matches run out you will see the options to keep going.
Can the other person see my face if blur is on?
No. With blur on, they see a softened picture of you. Turn it off whenever you are ready.
Can I leave a call whenever I want?
Yes. Tap Next to move on to someone new, or End to hang up. Either of you can leave at any time.
Are yap video calls recorded?
No. Yapchat does not record audio or video from calls.
